栗は植物学上は果物ですが、世界的にはナッツとして扱われます。 一方で、日本では「栗ごはん」のように野菜と同じようにおかずとして調理されることも多い、ユニークな存在です。 Chestnuts are botanically a fruit, but they are usually treated as nuts. In Japan, they are unique because they are also frequently cooked like vegetables in savory dishes, such as chestnut rice.
